Life on the road has a tendency mix up time and space; keeping track of both is a challenge at best. When you are on the road with a bunch of musicians, there are long miles, late nights. The challenge disappears and Surreality becomes reality. As I look at Pat Graham’s (patgraham.org) photographs, I am met with the familiar sense of looking at my own family photos. Not that I feel like I might have taken them, but the poses, facial expressions and compositions are so natural, the subjects of Graham’s work appear to be completely comfortable and unintimidated by the lens of his camera.
